If you want to learn about how to get involved in helping people in the less-developed world, Butterfly 208 can help. This website, made by the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA, a Canadian government agency), spreads the word about how to make a difference. There are articles about issues like child labour, HIV/AIDS and landmines, and real stories by Canadians working in the less-developed world. The site offers lots of ways to get involved—from its annual art and writing contest (the deadline is in the spring) to becoming a youth “ambassador.”

Youth Zone is the Canadian International Development Agency’s (CIDA’s) website for young people. Read real stories told by young Canadian development workers on projects around the world. Learn how you can apply for an internship working in the developing world when you graduate, and get inspired with plenty of other ways to get involved with global development.

“Making connections between learning and global issues” is what the Global Citizens for Change website is all about. Learn about why and how people volunteer overseas, and hear the first-person stories of some of those volunteers. Take a “virtual tour” of what it is like to be an international development volunteer.
